Star Alliance Airport Lounge: Temporary Lounges in LAX 06/2007

Category: Airport Lounge 2007-06-29

Due to the construction of the new 'Star Alliance Lounge' in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), all of the current lounges used by the airlines have been closed since October, 2006. This new 'Star Alliance Lounge' is scheduled to be opened in summer 2007.

During the construction period, the first class passengers can use the temporary First Class Lounge which is located on the 4th floor in TBIT. The business class passengers need to go to Gate 118 to take the shuttle bus to the temporary Business Class Lounge which is located behind a hanger.

Mom and AJ were waiting for Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore in the Star Alliance Temp First Class Lounge.

Even though the temporary Business Class Lounge is made up by several large and long construction trailers, once the guests walk in, they’re surprised to see a modern spacious but yet warm and comfortable area. There’re security agents to check the boarding pass before the guests entering the lounge, and to see the guests off to the shuttle bus back to the terminal for their departure flights.

There are several agents from different airlines work in the service desk which is located in the front center of the lounge. The departure reminders are also broadcasted so the guests would have enough time to catch the shuttle bus back to the departure terminal.

I certainly didn’t expect to see such nice temporary Business Class Lounge; I have to applaud the team that planned and set it up. The team put in extra efforts to make the area even more comfortable and more relaxing for the guests so that they won’t feel being disrupted by the construction of the new lounge and the inconvenience of being shuttling between the terminal and the temp lounge.
